Jobs: Glassdoor recently ranked Columbus as the 14th best city in the US to work. Along with the Ohio government and Ohio State University, there are many major companies based in Columbus, such as Nationwide, American Electric power, and Alliance Data.

Natural Beauty: Columbus is known for having lots of green. From tree-lined streets to gorgeous city parks, the city certainly doesn’t feel like a concrete jungle.

Columbus is a large city located in between Cincinnati and Cleveland, in Franklin County, OH. There are several major highways cutting through the city, like I-70, I-71, Hwy 670, and Hwy 270.

Columbus also has two international airports; John Glenn International Airport and Rickenbacker International Airport.

The city also has several suburbs and nearby towns, including Worthington, Dublin, Hilliard, Gahanna, Delaware, Westerville, Reynoldsburg, Upper Arlington, and New Albany.

Schools in Columbus are administered by the Columbus City School District. The district has over 100 schools and over 55,000 students and counting. Columbus also has dozens of magnet, charter, and private schools within its city limits.

Columbus’ major colleges and universities are, Ohio State University, Capital University Law School, DeVry university, Columbus State Community College, and the Ohio Institute Of Health Careers.

Columbus has many shopping centers and malls throughout the city, both big and small. The most notable of these would be Easton Town Center, Polaris Mall, Festival Centre, Westland Mall, and, of course, all the shops and boutiques in Downtown Columbus.

No matter where you choose to buy a house in Columbus, the things you need will only be a few minutes away.

Columbus is a city with dozens of large, beautiful parks. Some of the largest parks in the Columbus region are:

Columbus was originally founded in 1812 to be a compromise for the location of the Ohio State Capital. In the early 1850s, several railroads were constructed through Columbus, which helped the city to become a base for volunteer Union soldiers in the Civil War. After the Civil War, industry in Columbus boomed and dozens of factories were constructed.

As Columbus had a very diverse economy, it was not affected heavily by the Great Depression, and had a boom in population after World War 2. These new people came mainly from poorer areas in the Appalachian Mountains looking for opportunities. Columbus began to suburbanize after the construction of the Interstate System, and has been growing rapidly ever since.
