In a recent article, livability.com ranked cities from around the country on which were the best places to live in the U.S. They only chose 100 cities. Out of those 100, Columbus, Ohio placed 31st. Cities were ranked on everything from civics to infrastructure. Livability.com even evaluated more specific categories, such as the food and amenities.
Columbus Ohio Is Growing
One of the major reasons that Columbus placed so high on the list is because of its growth. Over the years, Columbus how grown by a huge amount, and fast. It is rapidly becoming the ultimate city for millennials. That’s no surprise because with all of this growth, Columbus has many job opportunities, and it’s an affordable city to live in. There is also superb education available at the Ohio State University.
Columbus Has Great Amenities
Another major reason that Columbus earned a spot on the list was its ranking in a more specific category that I mentioned before, amenities. This is also one reason that Columbus has a great economy.
A couple of examples of the many places to explore are the Columbus Museum of Art and the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. There are also many places to shop, such as big retailers like Lane Bryant, Victoria’s Secret, Justice and many more. Even better, these stores are easily accessible due to the city’s amazing infrastructure. It has easy walk-ability between some neighborhoods and other destinations.
Working In Columbus, Ohio
There are many important jobs located in Columbus. Some of the biggest are in the departments of healthcare, education, and government. This makes Ohio Health, State of Ohio, and Ohio State University huge employers. Also, speaking of the prestigious Ohio State, Columbus goes crazy for their “eight-time national championship winning college football team”. Go Buckeyes!
