At the Rita Boswell Group, we’re fortunate to have warm homes, big holiday meals, and beautifully wrapped gifts.

This Holiday Season, we want to help foster a charitable spirit for those in Central Ohio who need some of those things we take for granted.

Understandably, sometimes busy holiday schedules make it difficult to follow through with our wish to help the community. Hopefully, this post will help you easily connect with a charity that is meaningful to you.

Below find ideas to help those in need in your community:

👟Help Provide Clothes, Shoes, and Books For Needy Kids

The Ohio Newsboys Association is a Columbus charitable organization. From their website: “The mission of Charity Newsies is that no child shall be kept out of school for lack of adequate clothing.”

🎅Deliver Christmas Hope To Families In Need

Wagons Ho Ho Ho is a top-rated, 100% volunteer-driven charitable organization in Columbus, Ohio. Each year they transform a gym into Santa’s workshop where they build red wagons to deliver Christmas to more than 1,500 kids.

🏠Go On A Holiday Tour Of Homes

This might sound like too much fun to be a charity, but proceeds from the Holiday Tour Of Homes support the Junior League of Columbus. This is a top-rated Columbus charitable organization that works to, “promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women and improve communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.” They are probably best known for distributing thousands of backpacks with school supplies to kids in need throughout the Columbus area.

🐕Give A Pet A Home For The Holidays

Animal rescues work hard to place pets in need with loving families. While rescues are always looking for adopters, foster homes are usually in very short supply, especially during the holidays. Consider opening your home to a pet in need this holiday season, or donate to a pet food pantry. To get you started, here’s a list of pet charities in the Columbus area.

🍲Volunteer At A Central OH Soup Kitchen
